Coach Becky is the longest staff member at Pittsburgh Superstars, being with the program for 14 years. She cheered for Shaler Area High School for 5 years and currently coaches the Varsity squad, placing top 5 in the nation at UCA High School Nationals and first in WPIALS. Becky began teaching gymnastics out of high school then transitioned into coaching cheerleading, which she has been doing for over 16 years. She has been a Health & Phys Ed teacher at Shaler for 13 years now, also coaching at Jewarts Gymnastics. Coach Becky is also head of the Shining Star program. She has three children, two of which cheer for Pittsburgh Superstars on Mini Models, Glam Girls, Fashionistas, and Vanity.
Coach Kaylee has been involved in cheerleading for over 10 years at the all-star, high school, and recreational level. She has been a member of Pittsburgh Superstars since the 2010-2011 season, competing with Supermodels and then Open Black for the 2012, 2014, and 2015 season. She started coaching in 2010 and has won multiple choreography awards and national championships as a coach, with her favorite Pittsburgh Superstars memory being the coach and choreographer of the undefeated Mini Models of 2013. Kaylee has her bachelors of digital media arts from Duquesne University and her masters of mass communication and sports media at Oklahoma State University, where she cheered on their competitive team winning STUNT nationals in Dallas, TX in May 2017.
Coach Maggie has been at Pittsburgh Superstars since the 2011-2012 season. She is certified by United States All Star Federation in both Stunts & Tumbling levels 1-5. She has experience cheering in grade school, high school, college and competitive levels. Coach Maggie is a Junior Varsity and competitive cheerleading coach for Seneca Valley High School as well as a member of our staff. She graduated from LaRoche College, with honors and a degree in English Education: Language and Literature. Currently, Maggie teaches English and Social Studies at Saint Therese School in Munhall, PA. Her favorite memory as a Superstar would be coaching Fashionistas at the inaugural Summit in Orlando, FL and getting second place with Glam Girls the following year.
Haley has coached at Pittsburgh Superstars for 2 years after cheering competitively for 10. She was a member of the Seneca Valley JV cheerleading team and Captain of the Varsity team through high school. She cheered at RMU for 3 years while getting her BSN. She is a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse, CPR certified, Pediatric Emergency Assessment and Resuscitation certified, and Rapid Response Certified. She is an 8 times deans list member, Deans Scholar, a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars Honor Society, Sigma Theta Tau Honors Society, and a winner of the RMU Renaissance Award. She also was a member of the UCA staff for 1 year. Haley works for the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and Jamie Christian Photography, as well as volunteers for Izzie’s Gifts of Hope Foundation.
Marykate has been with Pittsburgh Superstars since 2006. She also was a Pine Richland cheerleader, winning back-to-back WPIAL championships, PIAA states, and placed top 3 at UCA High School Nationals. This is her first year coaching at Superstars. She also coaches the 9th grade squad and competition team at Pine Richland High School. She is USASF certified in stunting levels 1-5 and an education major at Slippery Rock University, planning to teach science for grades 4-8. Marykate was the first athlete to wear every Pittsburgh Superstars uniform ever made and was on the first Supermodel team to receive a full paid bid to The Cheerleading Worlds back in 2012.
Coach Courtney has been cheerleading since 2008 and with Pittsburgh Superstars since 2010 competing multiple times at The Cheerleading Worlds and at the inaugural Summit. She has coached since 2015 and choreographed for various high school and recreational programs, those teams winning various awards, bids, and first places. Coach Courtney graduated from Fairmont State University in May 2017 and was a member of the Acrobatics & Tumbling team, receiving multiple honors while being apart of the sport.
Coming to us with over 28 years of experience, Dana was a competitive gymnast for 12 years and a competitive diver for 5 before she got into coaching. She held roles of recreational director, gym manager and prtogram director for Jewarts gymnastics as well as coached competitive gymnastics teams, recreational classes, tumbling classes and cheerleading camps. Dana has worked with multiple high school and collegiate cheerleading programs around the area and is AACCA Certified and USAG Safety Certified.
Kayli cheered for 8 years before she started coaching. She has cheered for Pittsburgh Superstars and Shaler Area high school. She is USASF certified in levels 1-5 for tumbling. Kayli is currently majoring in psychology and minoring in history. She loves to spend time with her family and dog, Kelso. Her favorite thing about coaching is being apart of the girls' lives.
Coach Alex have been a part of the Superstar family since the 2011-2012 season. Prior to Superstars, she was a Level 9 competitive gymnast from the age of 7 and ended her career with several state titles & regional qualifying meets under her belt. At that time, she began her cheerleading career on our Level 5 Senior team, Supermodels. Alex was a member of Supermodels from 2011 until the 2015-2016 season. As a Supermodel, her most memorable experience was her final year, performing in front of 10,000 people at night, under the lights of ESPN Champion Stadium at the Cheerleading Worlds in Disney and placing 6th in the world. She began coaching right after returning from Worlds for the 2016 season. Aside from coaching, she is also a member of the PSS Level 5 Open Coed team. Alex is certified in tumbling for levels 1-5 by the USASF. Outside of Pittsburgh Superstars, she is a full time student with an intended major of Engineering Sciences graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 2020. She is the youngest in her family and has 3 older sisters. She enjoys spending time with her boxer named Karma and snowboarding when she is not training in the gym. She is known in the gym as Big Al, a nickname she got her first year at Superstars.
